Steve joined Topspin in July 2002 and has played an instrumental role in building Topspin I's buyout investment strategy and portfolio. He has led or co-led three out of the four buyouts done by Topspin to date. Prior to joining Topspin, Steve was a corporate attorney at Kirkland & Ellis, one of the world's leading law firms focused on private equity transactions. At Kirkland & Ellis, he led numerous merger and acquisitions transactions with a focus on middle-market leveraged buyouts. Prior to that, he was an attorney at Cahill, Gordon & Reindel, where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions and securities deals. Steve currently serves on the board of directors of The Tiffen Company, Moose River Publishing and Utrecht Manufacturing Corporation. He also served on the board of Coastal Security Company prior to its sale in November 2005.
Steve received his AB with honors from Harvard College in 1992 and his JD from Harvard Law School in 1995. He was the New York State High School Chess Champion in 1988.
